Where the extra height goes
Above 2.1 m we usually fit a separate cabinet with a flap or hinged door — perfect for suitcases, spare bedding, ski gear and rarely-used items. Below that runs your full hanging and drawer layout.
- Top cabinets with soft-close flap doors above 2.1 m
- Full-height shaker, flush or sliding doors below
- LED strips at the top of every door for warm uplight
- Scribed cornice returns so the wardrobe reads as ceiling
When tall isn't right
Rooms with deep cornices, dado rails or sloped ceilings sometimes look better with wardrobes that stop short — letting the architecture breathe above. We'll show both options on the survey drawings.
Frequently asked questions
- Will tall wardrobes make my room feel smaller?
- Usually the opposite — running to the ceiling reads as architecture, not furniture. Stopping short emphasises the wardrobe as an object.
- How do I reach the top cabinets?
- A small folding step ladder. We design top cabinets for rarely-used items so you only need to reach up a few times a year.
