About SAV Interiors — Bespoke Wardrobe Makers, London

Bespoke fitted wardrobes, designed online and installed by master joiners. Here is how we work, where we came from, and why we still do things this way.

Our story — where we came from and why we care about the craft

SAV Interiors started because we kept seeing the same problem: London homeowners who wanted quality fitted storage had to choose between overpriced high-street showrooms and generic flat-pack that never quite fit. There was no middle ground — a straightforward, design-led service with transparent pricing and genuinely skilled installation.

We built the company around two ideas. First, that most of the design process can happen online — measuring, configuring interiors, choosing finishes — without losing the quality of a fully bespoke product. Second, that installation matters as much as design: a beautiful wardrobe badly fitted is a bad wardrobe. Every unit we make is installed by time-served joiners, not general labourers.

Since launching, we have designed and fitted wardrobes in hundreds of London homes — from Victorian terrace alcoves in Islington to loft eaves in Dulwich and walk-in dressing rooms in Kensington. The common thread is always the same: a room that was hard to furnish, transformed into something that feels like it has always been there.

How we work — from online configurator to master joiner install

Our process is deliberately simple because most clients have already spent too long thinking about it. You start with our online configurator: enter your wall dimensions, choose a door style — Shaker, flat-panel, fluted, sliding — and spec the interior layout. Hanging rails, drawers, shoe racks, shelving. You see a live price as you build, so there are no hidden surprises.

Once you submit your design, we call within one working day to book a £150 home survey. A senior designer visits with samples, checks every measurement, and refines the details — scribing around cornices, adjusting for uneven floors, confirming colour matches. If you proceed, the survey fee is deducted from your order total.

Your wardrobes are then manufactured by our British partner to the exact millimetre, typically within three to four weeks. Installation is scheduled in a single day for most jobs, two days for larger or walk-in projects. Our joiners arrive, protect your floors, remove any old units if needed, and fit the new carcasses, doors, and hardware. They do not leave until the soft-closes are adjusted, the drawers run true, and you have signed off.

Made in Britain — our manufacturing partner

Every SAV Interiors wardrobe is manufactured in the UK by a specialist joinery partner we have worked with since the company started. They use CNC-machined boards cut to our exact specifications, with hand-finished edges and properly drilled hinge cups — the details that determine whether a door hangs straight for twenty years or starts sagging in two.

We use Egger MFC and moisture-resistant MDF for carcasses, both FSC-certified and sourced within Europe. Solid timber is reserved for door frames, in-frame Shaker profiles, and feature details where it matters. Our ironmongery — solid brass, satin chrome, and soft-close Blum hinges — comes from established UK and European suppliers with proper warranty backing.

Manufacturing in Britain means shorter lead times, better quality control, and a product that is not shipped halfway around the world before it reaches your bedroom. It also means we can respond quickly if anything needs remaking — a mismeasure, a damaged panel, a last-minute design tweak.

Our guarantee — what five years of cover actually means

We offer a five-year guarantee on all SAV Interiors wardrobes, covering materials, manufacture, and installation. That means if a hinge starts clicking, a drawer runner loses its glide, or a panel warps within five years of install, we fix or replace it at no cost. No depreciation, no "wear and tear" get-out clauses.

The guarantee extends to installation faults too — if a door drops because the frame was not properly secured, or if scribing gaps open up because the wall was not properly addressed, we return and put it right. We are still in London, still contactable by phone, still sending the same joiners.

Beyond five years, we offer a paid maintenance and refresh service: door realignment, hinge replacement, new interior fittings, and full refinishing for laminate units. Most of our clients never need it, but it is there if you do.

London only — why we do not stretch beyond Greater London

We serve Greater London and its immediate borders only. Not because we do not like the rest of the country — but because fitted wardrobes are a local craft. A joiner who has to drive two hours each way cannot offer the same responsiveness, the same familiarity with local housing stock, or the same ability to return quickly if something needs adjusting.

Staying London-focused also means our designers understand the quirks of London properties: the shallow Victorian alcoves, the Art Deco curved bays, the 1960s concrete-and-glass new builds, the loft conversions with sloped ceilings and steel beams. Each era needs a different approach, and local experience matters.

If you are inside the M25, or just outside in parts of Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, or Kent, we can almost certainly help. If you are further afield, we may be able to recommend a trusted partner who works to a similar standard.
