What 'bespoke' actually means at SAV
We do not sell modules. After a home survey we draw your wardrobes from scratch in CAD, you sign off the elevations, and the carcasses are cut to those exact dimensions in our workshop. Doors are made to the door layout you approve, not adjusted later to fit standard hinges.
That matters in London. Floors fall away, walls bow, ceilings vary by 30 mm across a single wardrobe run. A bespoke build absorbs all of that on site — scribed in three planes — so the finished wardrobe sits tight to plaster on every face.
Door styles, finishes and interiors
Bespoke applies to everything: door style, finish, interior layout and ironmongery.
- Shaker, one-panel, flush slab, fluted or sliding mirror/glass doors
- Laminate, real-wood veneer, hand-sprayed paint or fabric-wrapped
- Brass knobs, leather pulls, push-to-open or hidden J-pulls
- Drawer banks, valet rods, shoe walls, jewellery trays and LED strips
Cost and lead time
Bespoke fitted wardrobes from SAV start at around £1,600 per linear metre and rise with materials and interior fit-out. Lead time is 6–8 weeks from a signed-off design — see the pricing page for fully-installed examples and the cost guide in the journal for what drives the number up or down.
Frequently asked questions
- Is bespoke more expensive than modular?
- Per linear metre, yes — by 20–40%. But there is no wasted height, no filler strips and no scribing problems on install, so you usually get more usable storage for the money.
- Can I mix door styles in one room?
- Yes, common in walk-in dressing rooms — shaker on hanging cabinets, flush slab on drawer banks, mirror on the inside face of a door.
- Do you do bespoke for rented or short-let flats?
- We do, but speak to your landlord first — bespoke joinery is a permanent improvement, not removable furniture.
