Fitted Wardrobes Canonbury — Bespoke Joinery in N1

Made-to-measure fitted wardrobes designed, manufactured and installed for homes across Canonbury (N1). One workshop, one fitting team, four weeks from survey to install.

Loft eaves fitted wardrobes typical of Canonbury loft conversions

We have built fitted wardrobes for clients across North London for years, and every street in Canonbury comes with its own quirks — chimney breasts in awkward spots, alcoves of different depths either side of the same fireplace, picture rails to scribe under, and skirting profiles to match. The work below is the kind of joinery we do here every week.

Canonbury homes — what we typically work with

Canonbury's Georgian and early-Victorian stock around Canonbury Square and Alwyne Villas is some of the most architecturally sensitive in Islington. Ceilings are typically 2.8m+, original shutters often survive, and any joinery has to be sympathetic to the period.

Wardrobe styles popular in Canonbury

Laminate-finished in-frame wardrobes with traditional bead detailing and reclaimed-style brass furniture suit these properties best. Internal fit-outs lean towards leather-lined drawers, velvet jewellery trays and pull-out trouser rails.

We manufacture every carcass, door and drawer ourselves in our London workshop, so any colour, profile or internal layout you have in mind can be priced and built without sub-contracting. Hinges, runners and handles are specified individually per job — soft-close Blum runners are standard, and we will spec heavier-duty hardware where the door size demands it.

How we work in Canonbury

  1. Home survey (£150, deducted from your order). Our surveyor visits, measures every wall, checks floor and ceiling tolerances, and brings sample doors and material swatches so you can see the finish in your own light.
  2. Design and fixed quote. You receive scaled drawings (plan and elevation), an internal layout, and a fixed price. We iterate on the design until you sign it off.
  3. Workshop build. Once you approve, manufacture takes around three weeks. You can track the order through the customer portal.
  4. Install. Most Canonbury wardrobes are fitted in one to three days by our employed fitters — no sub-contractors, no third-party trades on site.

Recent Canonbury install

A loft master in N1 received an angled-roof wardrobe run with a central dressing table, all finished in a soft chalky white to disappear into the existing walls.

Access, parking and logistics in N1

We are familiar with the access constraints across North London — controlled parking zones, narrow staircases in period conversions, lift sizes in mansion blocks. Our surveyor will confirm access during the survey visit and we adjust carcass dimensions and component delivery accordingly. If a parking dispensation is required for the install day we will let you know in good time so you can arrange it with your local authority.
