We have built fitted wardrobes for clients across South London for years, and every street in Brixton comes with its own quirks — chimney breasts in awkward spots, alcoves of different depths either side of the same fireplace, picture rails to scribe under, and skirting profiles to match. The work below is the kind of joinery we do here every week.
Brixton homes — what we typically work with
Brixton mixes mid-Victorian terraces around Brixton Hill with Edwardian conversions and new-build flats near the centre. Conversion flats often have unusual angled walls where bespoke joinery is the only realistic option.
Wardrobe styles popular in Brixton
Sliding-door wardrobes work well in tighter SW9 flats; the larger terraces favour laminate-faced MDF Shaker fronts in warm whites or muted clays.
We manufacture every carcass, door and drawer ourselves in our London workshop, so any colour, profile or internal layout you have in mind can be priced and built without sub-contracting. Hinges, runners and handles are specified individually per job — soft-close Blum runners are standard, and we will spec heavier-duty hardware where the door size demands it.
How we work in Brixton
- Home survey (£150, deducted from your order). Our surveyor visits, measures every wall, checks floor and ceiling tolerances, and brings sample doors and material swatches so you can see the finish in your own light.
- Design and fixed quote. You receive scaled drawings (plan and elevation), an internal layout, and a fixed price. We iterate on the design until you sign it off.
- Workshop build. Once you approve, manufacture takes around three weeks. You can track the order through the customer portal.
- Install. Most Brixton wardrobes are fitted in one to three days by our employed fitters — no sub-contractors, no third-party trades on site.
Recent Brixton install
An SW2 conversion flat got a 3m sliding wardrobe in a soft matte grey with mirrored end panels — opened the master right up without losing any floor space.
Access, parking and logistics in SW2 & SW9
We are familiar with the access constraints across South London — controlled parking zones, narrow staircases in period conversions, lift sizes in mansion blocks. Our surveyor will confirm access during the survey visit and we adjust carcass dimensions and component delivery accordingly. If a parking dispensation is required for the install day we will let you know in good time so you can arrange it with your local authority.
